Should the U.S. Army be brought to guard our south borders?

Wouldn't be the best choice rather than profiling people?

  • "'The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed on June 18, 1878, after the end of Reconstruction, with the intention (in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807) of substantially limiting the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (today the Army, Navy, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain "law and order" on non-federal property (states and their counties and municipal divisions) within the United States"

  • Yeah and some states asked to have NG sent to the border and it did not happen. Now that some are trying to go it alone what do they get for it? HELL from people who do not like the way or just do not want anything done at all. Those who do not like the way should be telling the federal government don't fault the states for trying to do something to protect their citizens.

  • It is in the constitution, look it up. No standing army during peacetime on American Soil. If America was at peace we wouldn't have a standing Army at all. Just national guard, which I agree with is their duty to defend our borders. :)

  • Gotta do BOTH borders. Illegal immigrants come in from both sides.

And you'd also have to beef up the coast guard, because many coyotes have taken to the sea to smuggle people in.
