Why can't people on here just answers a question with out preaching or jumping all over the OP??

I mean that's why they are asking.... for classification and truth, right?? If one does not have any or little contact with a specific religion they may have questions and be looking for clarification or for someone to dispel a rumor that they heard - only they might not have any clue its a rumor! And, most people ask a question from the perspective of their own experiences. If you are all really interested in EDUCATING people about your religion, just answer the questions!!!!

  • I agree OP. There was a question about Mormons being able to drink an outspoken atheist had to comment how bad the life must be. Why did she have to do this? Why not answer the question and skip the what a horrible life you must have comment?

There is a question asking what to wear to a confirmation. Why the comments about a cult or creepy and sad? Just answer the question and quit trying to convert others to your non beliefs.

  • Overall I agree with you. However, sometimes you have to look at it from the point of view of the "attacker" as well. Some religions are constantly being attacked on here and depending on the wording of the question it may come off as a loaded question or one that's being asked simply to bash or criticize even if that's not the intention because it happens so often. So sometimes it's just because the question itself puts people on the defensive. There are those people though who are naturally like that and seem to be out looking for a fight at all times, with people like that it doesn't matter how you ask a question or really what it is, they are going to react like "rabid dogs" to steal the term from older. There's almost always one or two people like that no matter the question and you just have to let it roll off your back, let it go and move on.

  • As a poster in a public forum you need to realize that there are people who just take everything as a personal attack and will retaliate. You (in general not you specifically) need to learn that you are always going to get this type of reply whether you ask for it or not. When you do get one who bashes you can report it to Cafemom and let them handle it, respond to it yourself thus causing five pages of drama, or IGNORE it. And many other choices. Either way you should always expect that someone is going to disagree with you. You can't please everyone nor can you avoid offending someone. You can however let the offended person just deal with themselves because it's their issue not yours. If you want to tell them off, I suggest using the PM box so you don't clutter a post when someone is just looking for answers. Offensive anonymous posters should just be ignored or reported.

Which is why you should just take the question at face value and just answer it with out being a jerk about it!!!!

  • Anonymous 11:15 AM - it's NOT about being attacked or the victim.... just answer a question - we all come from different socio-economic backgrounds and have different religion exposure experiences. If you all can just answer the question without preaching, drama or bitchiness then maybe people will learn a thing or two and be a bit more tolerant with each other. In stead you make your own religion look like a bunch of radical nut cases and don't get a good word across to anyone!! Just answer the question with out prejudice or move on.... simple as that!! Why can't people just do this??? So sad, so sad indeed...
