WTH? I failed my 3hr glucose test also

This is my 4th baby and I've never failed even the regular glucose test so when I learned I had to take the 3hr one this time, I figured at worse it would come back normal. Then I get a call today saying 3 out of of the 4 readings were abnormal. I mean, really? Do people normally have GD with 1 pregnancy and not the others.

  • I think it becomes more common the older you are. My friend didnt have it with her first at 24 but had it with her second at 31

  • I had gestational diabetes with my first but the next to were fine. Coincidentally, my daughter from that first pregnancy is now a type 1 diabetic. Apparently one has nothing to do with the other and I kept my sugars VERY controlled because I did not want a 12 pound baby.
