I grew up Catholic and my husband grew up Nazerine. Due to the recent happenings in the Catholic church, I don't really feel right there and my husband and I agree that we don't want our son to be put in a stiuation that all too many boys have in the Catholic church. There are many things that I miss about the church, so we are looking for something similar. I like the aspect of communion every week or at least often and the fact that marriage is a sacrament/very important. I like that I come away from church feeling closer to God and better about myself. Any ideas??Answer Question

Episcopalian is like relaxed Catholic. i know exactly how you feel. I was raised Catholic, also. It feels so weird to walk into any other church. You just keep waiting for your cue to stand, sit or kneel lol!

I was going to say Episcopalian also... I've heard it called "Catholic Light" (buy Episcopalian friends of mine... so no one get all nasty on me please). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Episcopal_Church_(United_States)
Maybe Pentecostal??? But, I really don't know ANYTHING about that one!! I just know they seem really into their church in the community sense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentecostalism

Check out the LDS church. Weekly sacrament (kind of similar to Communion) and family and marriage are very important.
The main church website: http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=e419fb40e21cef00VgnVCM1000001f5e340aRCRD
and their more simplified website that tells basic beliefs: http://mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/
Best wishes in your search for a church. : )
