Anyone do anything for Walpurgisnacht?

Was low key here, aside from cooking out - closest to a bonfire we're going to get in this neighborhood, unless we ever get around to landscaping and putting in a fire pit.

Answer by Anonymous at 2:50 AM on May. 1, 2010

  • What is it?

It's the night before May Day - you have a huge bonfire, wrap a may pole if you're so inclined, otherwise drink, eat, and have a giant party.

  • I didn't but the weather was sure nice enough for it. I think maybe my neighbors were partaking in it because they sounded like they were definitely celebrating something.

  • lol, didn't even pay attention, we actually did have a cook out and bonfire yesterday but it was in no relation to it being may day tomorrow.

  • Unfortunately, I didn't. I would have loved to, but we are strictly monitored here and even BBQ Pits are only allowed on certain days. So that wasn't an option. Also, I was so beyond sick so I spent the night in bed... I did have a "flame broiled" burger... lol! Does that count? No, I didn't think so!

  • No, I had never heard of it.

Thank you for the info though, neat.
