my daughter got her first tooth, how do i take care of her mouth?

should i start brushing it or take her to a dentist? She is 8 months old.

  • Some dentist say to bring the child in when they get their first tooth, others say to wait until they are a year. Go to Walgreens or Walmart, they sell a little "finger" toothbrush that you can use and toothpaste that DOES NOT contain floride. You could also use a washcloth. And clean her mouth like you would yours if you were brushing your teeth. Clean the gums and tooth.

  • If there isn't a pedi dentist by you or one that is covered by your insurance I would wait on that. My kids loved the finger can also rub it on her gums.
