Chocolate Covered Strawberries Question

Would the stawberries be juicier if I cut off the leaves, poked hole all over the strawberry, and then let them sit in sugar for a bit before dipping them in chocolate? I once had the best strawberries and they were fully covered in chocolate but once you bit in they were so juicy and amazing!

  • It would depend on the strawberry. Doing what you're suggesting would make me think the chocolate would have a hard time adhering.

  • when picking strawberries look for smaller darker deep red strawberries they taste great for chocolate covered strawberries.

  • the darker red the strawberries the sweeter they are.

  • With strawberries and chocolate (which are both very sweet), I'm not sure why you would use sugar at all. I have enver used sugar before dipping them.

  • The darker the strawberry is in color- the sweeter the flavor!
