Why do immigration laws exist?

Do you know and understand? Why are the laws even on the books if no one is going to enforce them?

If a father of three killed your husband who happened to work at a grocery store while robbing it to feed his family, would it be ok?

If a poor child at school stole your child's favorite book, would you not expect the school to step in and discipline the child?

IMO, need does not place anyone above the law. If you have need, you should ask for help instead of forcibly taking it. When someone breaks into our land, they break into our home. It's not ok to just forcibly enter someplace just because that's where you want to be, or it's better than where you came from. Obama's house is better than mine, but if I showed up and tried to live there, he'd throw me out on my butt.

  • who are the ones who harvest our crop? who are the ones who builds our roads? who are the ones who work the blue collar (and lower) jobs that americans do not want to do? it is the immigrants. i give you a personal example. i work at a restaurant as a cook. now if all the Illegals were sent back. we would be left with 3 cooks and a dish washer...they would have to close the doors and go out of buissness.
This is ridiculous! For one thing, it is very very easy to staff a restaurant. It could be done in an afternoon, if not an hour, these days. For another you really think that Americans do not want blue collar jobs? We don't want to work on road crews, and pick crops, and do landscaping, and clean pools, and do construction, etc???? The word for this attitude is SNOB, and that is what you are. There is NOT ONE JOB that you claim Americans don't want, that Americans in a different city/state DON'T do.

  • GREAT analogies, lovin! :o)

Unfortunately too many people see only their immediate wants and needs and don't consider the impact or implications of their actions.

  • The law exists because without rules the nation would be a chaos.

I do think that the government has permitted for this to happen. Illegal immigration is out of control. So bad that the same Americans are promoting illegal immigration.

  • This is what I don't get, where and when has anyone favored one illegal immigrant over another. I have not seen that. Just because one state is starting to implement the LAW and there just happen to be more Hispanic illegal immigrants than any other in that state, because they border Mexico. It would be naturally expected that there would be more of one than the other, because of the borders. It has nothing to do with race, but everything to do with borders. It would be no different if we boarded some Russian country. But people seem to be making more of this than they should. What is it that people don't get?

  • well im from mexico and i can tell u first hand that people ( not only mexicans) dont always want to "brake into the USA" but more like they are forced to "DO SOMETHING" as risking their LIFE'S because many many die each day crossing . but they do so because its the only way to feed their families back home.
if you couldnt find a job that paid u more the $10 a WEEK and your kids were hungry and had no moeny to pay to go to school (beacause in mex noone just gets to go to school for free and books and uniforms all need To be bought) and your home was but one or 2 bedroom shack. hmmm what would you risk what would you do for your family?
ive asked many people from all over the world and 9 out of 10 always tell me the same if i could make enough money in my country i would stay there where iam not looked at like a criminal or down on.

  • i agree totaly with mommyto2tcbays...and i would like to add can you expect someone trying to get out of poverty to be able to AFFORD to do it the legal way??? if they are poor and have no money to feed their families how int he world are they going to pay for the paper work the visas and so on.....ESPECIALLY since the mexican peso has so much less value than the american dollar. if they cant afor to make ends meet with their own currency in their own are they going to be able to make enough to pay in the US currency? i think that most come hoping once here they can make it right. but soon find out the sad truth that very few are willing to reach out a hand to them in a time of need.

So what? Mexico is full of foreigners, all of the Americas are. No country in North or South America is populated only with native people.

Perhaps we should all "go home" back to Europe and Asia. Oh wait, they have IMMIGRATION LAWS TOO!
