Would you use these eggs???

I have six uncooped cage free eggs (paid small fortune for them LOL) just went to boil some and noticed the sell by date is 4-28 grrrrrr.

Would you use them? And is it just me or are "sell by" dates getting shorter and shorter?

  • Do the water test. Fill a bowl with cold water. If the eggs sink, they are fine; if they float, this means that air has seeped in and they are not good.

  • I would. I just made some food last night with unused eggs dated 3/28, and all was fine.

  • The sell by date is exactly that. when they have to be sold. Not the use by day. I would use them, personally.

  • The sell by date, and the use by date aren't the same. I would use them.

  • Yes you can use them a few weeks after that date as long as they have been properly refrigerated.
