How is black magic different from other types of magic?

Is there such a thing as white magic? Is black magic dangerous, or more misunderstood?

  • Magick is colorless. It's the intent that makes something good or bad. There is really no such thing as black or white magick, the energy is all the same, it's what the person is doing with that energy that makes it good or bad...

  • It is how you utilize it not tha magick itself. For instance look at a love spell. Love is a good thing right? Of course it is. But if the spells intent is to make someone fall in love with another then that "good" is forced will....not a good thing.

  • And no, Magick itself is not dangerous. Again, it's intent.

Ritual Sorcery, which tends to be what they portray in movies, can be deadly for the untrained practitioner, but this is NOT witchcraft and is NOT what the average Magick practitioner is doing!

  • Sabrina is also right in the way Hollywood has a way of screwing up facts. Spells are a way for us to focus and helps clear the way and point us in the right direction. The practicioner still has to go out and seek answers but the spell helps us focus to the point of giving us the knowledge of where to start.

  • Magick like Sabrina said is really colorless. It is a neutral force like electricity. Moral of magick is attached to it's user, that is, it can be used for good and helping things or to destructive and hurting things. it all comes down to the spell casters intent. most witches use it daily for healing purposes and perhaps more frequently for personal purposes like reducing negativity, protection and improving the self. It can also be used for many other purposes as determined by the individual while bearing in mind the Three Fold Law.
