Did you see Angela's Ashes?

I am wanting to do a report for college on the movie Angela's Ashes. This is a very gripping movie that I am also about ready to ready the book on. I was only wondering, throughout the movie they talk about people dying from the damp (in 1930's Ireland). What is "the damp"? Is it just that from all the rain and flooding people got ill or got (consumption)TB? Or what? Thanks.

  • Love that movie. It stikes a chord in me because Frank had an alchoholic father who was absent for most of his life. Dont know the answer. Maybe its a metaphor. The damp. The sadness. The gloom that would never go away.
