How much whole milk and water is ok for my 1yr old?

How much milk and water should she be drinking a day?

  • Milk - dairy, total, is 3 servings a day. So if she's not eating cheese or yogurt, then 24oz of milk maximum. Water she can drink as much as she wants. Some days my kids wouldn't drink much, some days they'd drink a couple sippies of it or more.

  • At age one, my daughter had a sippy cup with water at meal times, and breastmilk four times a day.

  • Water- as much as they want. Milk- no more than 24oz a day. If they drink any more than that, it can lead to milk anemia. The calcium in milk can inhibit the absorption of iron.
