If a battery explodes in something can you clean it and still use it or is it garbage??

The batteries blew up in our diaper pail and we only had it for 6 months. I am wondering if I can clean it up and use it again...

Wasn't sure where to post this.

  • Sure you can.

Not sure if it'll work but you can always try.

  • I wouldn't recommend it. The acid may be a little hard to get rid of ..........

  • Take it outside, wear gloves and scrape it out off the connections then wipe it with a damp cloth. All of the battery acid should wipe away. Just be careful and don't touch your eyes until you clean your hands. As long as all the debris is off, you can use the item again. Wipe it all down very well before using.
