How come nobody is making a big deal about the children's OTC drugs being recalled?

All moms talk about is the AZ new law.

  • The recall is being done for packaging reasons...I work in a pharmacy and we were informed it was to redo the dosing for children. They didn't say exactly WHY they were redoing the dosing, but there isn't anything wrong with the medication itself.
With Generic vs Brand products, the generic has the same active ingredients...when a company makes a "brand name" product, they get a paten (sp?) so other companies have to wait so many years before they can duplicate that medication. So once that period is up, other companies finally makes their brands. brand and generic do exactly the same thing.

  • "Some of the issues being looked at are related to potential higher concentrations of active ingredients, inactive ingredients may not meet the company's testing requirements and/or may contain tiny particles." McNeil Consumer Healthcare issues voluntary OTC and Tylenol recall 2010

Does anybody know what do they mean?
