has anyone eles had a reacurrent of bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy?

Ill be 28 weeks tomorrow and im worried i have it again.
i made an appointment and i have to be in at 8:25 tomorrow.
i have had it back in march. i dont understand why i had it because i havent been sexually active at all because my hubby is deployed and i shower every day and everything im very clean! i read that it can cause you to have late miscarriage and it can cause preterm labor or the baby can die from it.
im really worried that im going to lose him. idk what to do.

  • Bacterial vaginosis is so relative. Some women just have a higher natural bacteria count than others.

If you are worried, your diet has a lot more to do with your bacteria and yeast balance than anything else. This is NOT a hygiene issue. No wheat, no yeast. Up your raw food intake. If you can get your body pH up to 7.4+ you'll have no problems.

  • Calm down everything will be ok. I had it alot while pregnant and still get it occasionally. It has to do with an overgrowth of bacteria and your baby will be fine as long as you get treated.

  • Bac vag is not a threat to your pregnancy. It's also not successfully treated with antibiotics. Like a PP said, your diet can have a lot to do with it, though I disagree that you need to completely eliminate wheat and yeast (especially since this is not a yeast infection). If you're eating a bunch of junk, stop. Raw fruits and veggies are awesome. Treat it like you would any other vaginal infection... garlic suppliments, perhaps a clove of scored garlic inside the vagina overnight, wear panties as infrequently as possible and take a probiotic. This is more successful than using the antibiotics.

But mostly, focus on a healthy diet. That will work wonders.

  • Lol, garlic has a ton of anti-microbial compounds in it. It can just be taken in the form of garlic pills, but a more direct route is to place it directly into the vagina.

I have never actually used vaginal garlic, but I would imagine you could either fish it out with your finger or tie a string to it (and just don't place it terribly far into the vagina).
