  • Times Square is significant Im sure... people frequent there and there are certain buildings there too.
Formerly named Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed after the Times Building (now One Times Square) in April 1904. Times Square, nicknamed "The Crossroads of the World," has achieved the status of an iconic world landmark and has become a symbol of New York City. Times Square is principally defined by its spectaculars, animated, digital advertisements.[1]

Its the home of the New Years Ball drop as well as many corporate businesses mostly financial.

Never let facts get in the way of the opinion you want to force upon others.

I'm still wondering why anyone bothered to take credit for it. Why would you stand up and say "yes, we're so inept that we built a bomb from spare parts and legal fireworks that were about as effective as a smoke bomb"?

  • Wenona thats nice but the article about the car bombing mentions no home grown terrorists. So YOU are speculating that it was done by home grown terrorists without proof.

Op, I am glad they were so inept that no one was hurt. Several different sites are claiming several different possible suspects. One claims a 40 y.o. white male. Another claims al qaeda is taking responsibility as revenge for 2 leaders killed in Iraq in Apr. So in due time will we be given the answers they big bro thinks we can handle.

  • I'm sure we'll have answers soon enough. I don't think it was a terrorist attack. It was too amature. If terrorist really want to do something they would do something bigger then that and not make it look so obvious.
