This maybe a stupid question but what is the difference between bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection? I thought they were the same!

  • Yeast is a fungus like athletes foot or jock itch. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by bacteria.

  • BV is a bacterial infection in the Vagina. An overgrowth of bacteria. A Yeast infection is an overgrowth of yeast. Two different organisms.
