Plugged duct? uhhhh

I have a hard lump that is thicker at the top of my breast and goes down towards the nipple. I went 4 hours without nursing/pumping this side and now can't get rid of this. Does this sound like a plugged duct and if so what do I do to get rid of it?

  • could be. use a warm compress for 10 minutes prior to nursing on that side. if you are not able to nurse on that side, pump it. trust me you dont want to end up with an infection i speak from experience

  • Adding to the advice from PP, massage the bump while you're nursing/pumping on that side and if possible have the baby's chin pointing toward the bump.
