What to expect when my 14 month old will be getting an EKG?

Does anyone know what they do exactly?

  • When my daughter had one, they laid her on a little table next to me and turned on a Disney movie while they used an "ultrasound like" machine to look at her heart. It didn't take long and she was engrossed in the movie, but she was a little older than your child, not sure if they will do the same thing or not.

  • What you are talking about above is an ECHO, and EKG is different. An EKF they just put som electrodes on their tummy and other places and they lay on their backs. It takes like 10 minutes tops. An ECHO is when they do the ultrasound.
