Q - for those promoting Refugee status; and invasion as a solution.

You have spent the better part of a week; screaming about open borders; and how everyone is so heartless; and how these people "should be recognized as refugees because life is so terrible where they came from".

What about Darfur? Do you even know where that is? Do you know what is happening there every minute of the day? Do you know that aside from the genocide that is being committed; woman are also raped with machine guns after the men are done gang raping them so they're disfigured for life?

The genocide in Darfur has claimed 400,000 lives and displaced over 2,500,000 people. More than one hundred people continue to die each day; five thousand die every month.

Come on and tell me about refugees again....please I'd love to hear it.

Have you done anything for these people? Support of any kind? Do you care about them or only those you know and are afraid of being deported?

  • Um, people in Darfur are too far away to vote for the Dems. The very real horror those poor people live through each and every day doesn't even begin to compare to what any illegal immigrant goes through in this hemisphere. But, you're right, OP, most of the people crying that they should be classified as refugees don't have a clue what a real refugee goes through. Which is why I don't and can't take them seriously.

  • I agree Beach. 100%. People from Darfur should get refugee status, what is going on there is beyond imagination.

  • Anon - we are connected to Mexico, in the physical sense, which is why they are coming here. If they were connected to Canada, they would go there. There are good people in EVERY country, does this mean that everyone that wants to, should come to America? No. There is a finite number of resources. We cannot afford to support any more.

Think of your family. Your family makes "x" amount of money. You neighbors loose their job. Because they are "good people" you let them come and live with you. The neighbor's parents find out that you are taking in "good people", so they come over, and bring some friends whom are also good, but have fallen on hard times. Then they tell their families, and friends....

How long do you think that you could support that many people? Do you think it is fair to impact your family, or even the neighbors that you chose to help? You end up poor and hungry and aren't able to help anyone.

  • Part of becoming a citizen is being able to show that you have a marketable skill, so you are able to be self sufficient. Part of it is "do we have room?"

The people that are coming here illegally are making it difficult for those that have put the time and energy into coming here legally.

  • Interesting that every other immigration post is 20 pages deep with rants about refugees and we just don't know how bad it is there etc... but none of them have the balls to try to say it here....

  • I quit going into immigrations posts after the tenth one or so, so apparently I haven't seen everyone referring to them as refugees. (Well, I've seen a few, but not that many).

What a ridiculous notion. Thanks for the post, OP.
