How can i get my 8 year old daughter to open up to me?

She says that she does not love us or her grandparents. She has also mentioned that she wonders what it would be like if we were dead

  • thats sad. why don't you ask her why she wants you to be dead and why is she upset and if she doesn't respond then tell her that you can't make things better and until she wants to talk about it she can keep her mouth closed

  • Ask her why she doesn't love each person one by one. Ask her what it would take for her to love you all again. Try to be patient with her and ask her as many questions as you need to understand. Maybe she needs counseling or is going through something. Each day have a set amount of time you two can talk to each other about the day. Do you think she feels unloved? Sometimes the child doesn't feel it and when parents get mad it makes it worst. Whatever you do, don't tell her that her feelings are wrong. Let her come to that conclusion on her own.
