Have you seen what is going on today in Greece?

Greece is a wold of hurt and you hardly hear anything about it. Today, the unions have gotten thier members together (rumored at 70% of those in Greece) and are protesting. Not a peaceful protest either. One bank was set on fire and 3 people died. This all because they unions don't like the cut backs that have to be made so Greece can be bailed out. I know most of you think this can't happen in America but you need to open your eyes to the U.S, debt and how much of it is caused by unions themselves. Without our own cut backs we are only a few years off.

  • No one wants to be the department that's cut back. If we DON'T learn how to get along with less, we WILL be in the same boat as Greece, and sooner than we might think!

  • Greece's problem is bigger than that. The EU just bent them over and didn't use lube. They "bailed them out" but in actuality what they really did was bail out their own banks that have been loaning money to Greece without outright bailing out their banks so their own citizens don't hate them (more). Greece is left with no means to rebuild its economy because the restrictions of this bailout are so extreme it's physically not possible. It would be like lending someone a million dollars and then telling them they are required to pay it back at a certain rate but not allowed to have a job to earn the money to pay it back.

  • We have several large companies here that have asked their members to take cuts just so they can survive and of course the unions fight it and say no. So one by one they are closing down and leaving the state leaving people without jobs. I can not understand how people would rather have no job and no prospects over taking a small cut. Unions in the US are more abour controling our government than protecting their workers anyway.
