  • About $200 for us. Thats typically one big present (you know the big toys are more expensive), couple small ones and some clothes. But you should do what is in budget for you. Spend less or more depending on how your budget is...don't go by what all of us do. Don't buy your Christmas gifts on credit either. And our amount fluctuates based on what bills we are paying off at the time, savings, and other things.

  • Between 100-150 each. Any more than that and its beyond overkill. There are too many extended family members to buy a ton.

  • Last year was an exspensive year because our 4 year old got a dirt bike and race gear (my husband raced motocross and wants our sons to also) and we didn't feel right spending that much on one child and no the other so it was close to $1000 a piece. This year will not be that big.

  • Both Hubby and I are from small families. Our kids get TONS of stuff from grandparents bc they are the only grand kids on both sides. We spend $60-$70/person (family of 4-soon to be 5). If someone wants a special big-ticket item, we will spend more. We look for bargains & items with special meaning to each person. We rarely point out things that we want in the store or from TV commercials, etc., so we make wish lists of things we'd like most. This way others know what each person likes or is "into" any given year. We make it less about the gifts & more about giving special time & thought to each other. We also try to give at least one practical gift to each person (clothes, etc.). Even at such a low cost, each person still gets 4-6 gifts.

Me, Hubby, & kiddo #1 all have birthdays in Jan/Feb, so we're giving gifts again really soon after Christmas. We treat birthdays the same way, $60-$70 each.
