how can i tell my son to calm down without yelling?

this has been going on for a while him acting up!!

  • well you can always tell him or her nicely to calm down unless him or her has tempor tantrums!!

  • I find when I'm yelling no one is really paying attention. I make my children sit and look me in the face and I use a very low, calm, soft voice so they have to listen to what I'm saying.

  • First, get to his level so he can look you in the eye. Then, tell him calmly to stop and let him know the conditions (if you don't stop this will happen). Finally, if he persist, follow through on the condition so he will know to take you seriously the next time. My 3 year old daughter likes to challenge me like that.
