  • Not that I know of. For the most part you want them to cough that way nothing settles in their chest.

  • Are the coughs because of the mucous or is it a dry cough? There are homeopathic cough syrups that contain honey that would be good for if she has a dry cough. They can't be used if there is a lot of mucous involved though.
If it's not a dry cough (like if it has to do with season changing weather/allergies) You could give her 1/2 dose of children's benadryl. Double check with a local pharmacist or your child's pedi first if you don't feel comfortable. These were suggestions from our own local pharmacy.

  • i would call her pedi...there are alot of otc meds that younger children can take like robitussin. BUT you need to get the correct dosage from the doc..i would get you baby checked jsut in case it could be allergies. i wouldnt want to treat an allergy with cough meds. it would help the product but not take care of the cause of why they are coughing in the first place. with a child that young atleast call the doc for advice..that is what they are there for. :)

  • I was told by our pediatrician(!!) that a very small amount of good dark(70%+ cacao) chocolate (like one square/kiss type size) is actually a good natural cough suppressant.. and generally very easy to convince them to take ;D.. also- a spoonful of honey can do wonders for a sore, scratchy throat- local is best- will help if allergies are a contributing factor. Hope this helps..

  • I know this sounds weird, but sometimes it really works. Put Vicks Vapo rub on the bottom of her feet. Then put socks on. Do this right before bed. I have had it take the cough away immediately!! It has also not worked at all, but it's worth a try.
