  • When I think of the 50's I think of vinyl records and drive-ins and malt shops. That said, food wise, I would go with:
burgers & fries, grilled sandwiches, chicken salad, pizza, tortilla wraps, hot dogs, onion rings, make your own sundaes, and strawberry shortcakes. I would decorate the wedding cake with miniature records and musical notes--maybe put a sock hop dancing couple on top or Elvis figurine?!

For drinks (in addition to champagne, wine and beer), I would consider: root beer floats, lemonade, ice tea, flavored sodas, slushes/fruit smoothies, chocolate/vanilla malts/ice cream frappes, and milk shakes.

    Have fun!

  • (I don't know if you wanted alcohol, but here's some ideas if you do)

Keep it light like with cucumber sandwiches, egg salad, and the-like. I did my best at finding recipe sites with some ideas, hope these help you!

  • lol, well I do like the suggestions above. We had an outdoor wedding at our house, and we catered in Subway! Then I also put together family reunion type food, Potato salad, coleslaw, meatballs, fruit bowls, baked beans, etc. It was perfect and I STILL get people telling me how great it was and this was a year ago!
