Identity theft. Why is this?

For the second year in a row, Arizona topped the Federal Trade Commission's list of states with the most identity-theft complaints, with 142.5 victims per 100,000 people in 2004. Nevada and California followed closely behind with 125.7 and 122.1 victims per 100,000 people, respectively.

Why is this??? Anyone want to venture a guess??

  • No, I won't venture a guess for premonition that I will be called a racist or a bigot. These things are so predictable.

  • Most likely for the same reason that Arizona has the highest rate of kidnapping in the US - Mexican drug dealers

  • Illegal immigrants would be the likely reason. American citizens do this as well but, I think it's higher in places like Arizonia and California because there are more people who additional reasons for needing to steal someones identity.

  • I'm gonna go with what Quinn said. We all know, we just can't say, cause then we are heartless, racist, bigoted, etc.

Answer by 29again at 10:32 PM on May. 9, 2010

  • Because of all the illegals that live there. I mean it's wrong for an american to do such a thing but it's ok for an illegal because they are just trying to make a better life. yeah whatever

Answer by Anonymous at 10:32 PM on May. 9, 2010

  • Lots of illegals live in that area. It's not racist, it's fact.

Answer by BEXi at 10:36 PM on May. 9, 2010

  • BEXi -- if you think that illegals are criminals, you are racist. If, however, you think that illegals are just people who were unlucky enough to be born somewhere else, and we should open our borders and allow anyone who wants to to live here, then you are a good person.

At least, that is what some so-called Americans would have us believe.

  • um, isn't the very definition of ILLEGAL mean you are a criminal? LOL that is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a while.
