Pets and Ezcema

My 5 month old has atopic dermatitis (ezcema). I'm nursing and I've already changed my diet which has helped a lot. However, every time we go over to my in laws (they have a huge german shepherd) he seems to have a pretty bad flare-up. This past weekend we were there Fri, Sat, and Sun night for dinner and he spent the entire night scratching his face, which turned bright red. I hate to blame the dog or the in-laws but I heard pet dander and pet hair can be an issue. We already know the dog drool causes a flare up. Any thoughts? Thanks!

  • I say get her to an allergist and get a scratch test. food allergies will not show on a scratch test but things like pet dander will. good luck
