The Supreme Court and Sexuality?

A "family values" group has demanded that the press ask Ms. Kagan if she is a homosexual and has declared that if she is, she is obviously not qualified to be on the Supreme Court. Agree or not?

  • Absolutely not. Any job that doesn't allow homosexuals is guilty of discrimination. Encouraging unequal opportunity is NOT a family value.

  • Totally disagree, her sexual preference has nothing to do with her ability to do her job as a Supreme Court Judge, when did sexual orientation become a qualification for such a job?

  • If she'd ever been a judge, she might be able to tell you.

  • I'd love to hear the rationale behind that one.

  • My small bit of research (which, admittedly, is still ongoing) seems to indicate that Ms. Kagan has never been a judge of any kind. While I have very strong views on homosexuality, her apparent lack of judicial experience is more of a concern to me than her choice of sex partners.

  • I'm sure if she was a lesbian, we would have heard so by now from all the news outlets because they love listing historical firsts in court nominations.

  • Whether or not she has been a judge has no bearing on this question and it is NOT a pre-qualification for being a Supreme Court Justice.

  • Let me get this straight....a DEAN of HARVARD law school is not qualified to be a supreme court justice....but Sarah (Africa is a country) Palin is qualified to be PRESIDENT!!!!!
