When do a baby's eyes change color?

Someone told me it was soon after they are born, but my brother's eyes were blue until he was almost 2, then they turned brown.

  • yeah, I've heard that. My little one has gorgeous blue eyes, and I hope they stay that color. But if they don't, that's ok too

  • I think it's like 70% of their eye color is in place at 6 months and can change slightly over time. My son was born with really dark blue eyes and they turned the pretties sky blue, he's almost two and they just keep getting bluer.

  • I was always they can change a lot during the first year but are typically there permanent color between 1 - 2 years but I've never read any articles on the subject. My first born had chocolate brown eyes when she was born and she's 5 now and still has those same brown eyes. My other daughter had gray eyes, then brown, and they finally settled on hazel when she was about 13 months old. My son also had gray eyes at birth that eventually turned into a blue/green around 11 months old.

  • My ds was born with the same dark brown eyes he has today, at 5 years old. They match daddy's exactly.
My dd was born with hazel green eyes that made my mom, sis, and best friend (all with hazel green eyes) very happy. When she was 18 months, they changed to medium brown, just like mine.

That whole "All babies are born with blue eyes" is bull honkey.
