question for crocheters.....

I have been looking at some patterns and many of them say "make an adjustable ring"...and that's it, no more detail. Is there a standard for this? such as chain 5, or as long as the ring can fit my pinky through....or something totally different? thanks.

  • do a google search for "magic ring crocheting" or something to that effect,

you basically loop the yarn around your finger twice, remove it and hold it tight and crochet around it, then pull the tail tight. I personally have not found this technique effective and just do either all my stitches into a single chain or do your basic chains/join with slip stitch.
