  • Before like 20 weeks alot of kiddos run in the higher range. My son did. He had a "girl" heartbeat till i was well into my 2nd trimester. Then it bordered boy and girl. Depends on the kiddo.

  • No. Heart rate means NOTHING when it comes to sex.

  • my dd's heartbeat was 132-139 the whole pregnancy. I was told because it was so low she would be a boy! My ob insisted that in her 20 years of practicing, she had never seen a girl with this low of a heartbeat... during the ultrasound, dd flipped over and spread her legs so we could clearly see, she was a girl!!
I think you might be safe to think because of the high heartbeat your baby could be a girl but you never know! And congrats!!!!

  • Both of mine had a heart rate of 150-160 throughout my pregnancies. I had a boy and a girl. Heart rate has much more to do with mom's stress level, etc. than gender of the baby.

  • The heart rate has nothing to do with the sex of the baby. Just like the way you carry the baby has no meaning or indication which sex the baby is. Both Old Wives' Tales.

  • The heart rate has nothing to do with the sex of the baby. The babies heart rate is always usually pretty fast at first and it slows down as the pregnancy progresses. My son's heart rate was at 156 for the majority of the pregnancy and everyone thought he'd be a girl, but he's all boy!
