does cps do a background check?

Just curious if they do. I couldn't find much when I googled it. thanks.

  • On who? The people that get reported? I know they do for foster homes.

  • I am fairly sure they do... to see if there's a history of that sort of thing. For example if your kids teacher reports you for bruising or spanking and you have a record for assaults, bar fights, etc, they'll examine you much closer and not brush it off as quickly.

    Similarly if someone reports you for something financially motivated like prostitution, baby smuggling, etc etc and they run your financial records and see you're 6 months behind on the mortgage and filed bankruptcy more times than Heinz has pickles, they'll look further and further and closer and closer
