WTF? Pakistani Taliban not on the State Department terror list?

Five Senators want to know why:
Several lawmakers are urging the Obama administration to put the Pakistani Taliban on a State Department terrorism blacklist that would impose sanctions on the group, which officials say is linked to the failed Times Square car bombing.
In a letter Tuesday to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, at least five Democratic senators — including those from New York and New Jersey — asked Tuesday that the group, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, be designated a “foreign terrorist organization.” The move would freeze the group’s U.S. assets and make it a crime for Americans to offer it material support.

Is this Bush's fault, too?

  • Don't say "terrorist", it's not NICE! Would you like it if someone called YOU a terrorist? These morally challenged individuals of mediterranean decent have feelings, too! And while we're at it, I think the word "Taliban" should be put on the political incorrect list, too! Somehow, it's become associated with too many negative connotations, and we wouldn't want any discrimination happening, now would we?

  • Wouldn't that be racial profiling if they were on the list? It's safer to strip search little old grannies at the airport. Nobody will bomb you because you made them mad.
