Whats first fruits or veggies??

I had read that when introducing solids you go cereal, fruits, veggies, meats. But last night I was talking to dh's aunt and told her about how dd just LOVES applesauce she started freaking out bc I gave her fruits first. She said fruit is too sweet and when i introduce veggies she won't eat them. What order did you do??

  • cereal - veggies - fruit for my daughter as well..i also heard that youre SUPPOSED to give veggies first, because if they have sweet fruit, they wont eat their veggies..but, my daughter loved veggies even after having fruits..(especially sweet potatoes..she loooooved those)

  • I did veggies first b/c I had heard the same thing! I don't think it's a big deal either way, she'll learn to like both anyway. I started with cereal, then sweet potatoes, then green beans, then some fruits

  • If you're breastfeeding, that whole no fruits first because they're sweet thing doesn't really matter because breastmilk is sweet. We started with avocado, which isn't sweet, but technically is a fruit.

  • My pedi suggest to introduce veggies first then fruits. It's mainly to avoid having a sweet-tooth. In my case it worked with my now 3 year old and I'm doing the same with my now 5 month old. However I did recently give my 5 month old avocado, like the other pp said....it is a fruit, but it's not sweet. She hated it! I'm waiting to introduce it again later when I give her fruits so that way I can mix it with a fruit. www.wholesomebabyfood.com is a great website that was suggested to me if you want to check it out.:0)

  • Tried to start with cereal (hated it), then veggies (sweet potato and squash first), then meats (hated those, too), then fruits. He's a pretty good eater now, at 21 months, not too picky, and LOVES fruits and veggies!
