Culinary Graduation Party Ideas???

I am planning my SOs graduation party. He is graduating from Culinary school. He wants to do a dinner party at a steak house. Not a fancy one though, just good food at reasonable prices. We always decorate-even at restaurants- for parties.
I need help thinkin of ideas for favors and decorations. I already found food themed games and the invitations.
I was thinking italian theme, but isnt that weird at a steak house? I dont want to do mexican because we are mexican and that isnt interesting/different from any family party.
Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks!

  • What about a BBQ theme since it's at a steak house and as party favors everyone can get a little bottle of BBQ sauce or a little shaker of BBQ seasonings.

For decorations you could use red checkered table cloths and put BBQ utensils in a big vase for a centerpiece. Lol, fill in the empty spaces with bits of charcoal or something.

  • bbq or outback/australian theme...unless the steak house happens to be Outback then that would just be silly

  • What are his plans? If he wants to focus on a certain type of cooking or go into business you could consider thoese as ideas. The bbq theme is nice, or a very mock fancy meal/royalty type, rennasance type theme, or even a country (germany i can imagine having steaks)
