Replacement for soy

I'm looking for a replacement for soy in all forms. I love Asian foods, but am highly allergic to soy. Any ideas/suggestions?

  • Seitan can replace tofu.

I am not sure how to replace the flavor of soy sauce, maybe rice vinegar with sea salt?

  • Rice vinegar or maybe even balsamic vinegar with sea salt sounds good, as rkoloms said. Add a little beef broth as well. If you want to thicken it and intenisfy it, you could simmer it to a reduction.

  • Is Braggs made with soy? I know they market it as a replacement for soy sauce but I'm not sure exactly what's in it. I'd definitely go for seitan instead of tofu, I do and I'm fine with soy.
