should i be worried? i ate off a spoon i used on raw chicken!!!

i was NOT thinking!! lol.
i made chicken tonight and put BBQ sauce on it, i used a wooden spoon to cover the chicken with the bbq sauce before i cooked it. and the spoon def touched the meat and the raw juice it provided with it. then i did some other stuff in the kitchen before i put the meat in the oven and without thinking, i grabbed the wooden spoon i used on the raw chicken and licked ALL of the bbq sauce off of it!!! :( when i was done i realized and started spitting but i had already swallowed all of it...

do you think im going to get food poisoning??? ugh i hope not!!

  • remember how good it is when you're violently ill and throwing it all up. if you're sick you'll know by tomorrow.

  • Not all chicken is infected with salmonella...I think it's something like 15-20%. If you do get it, you should know within 12-48 hours and you'll probably be sick from 2-5 days. You'll feel like crap and be throwing up constantly, but odds are you won't have serious complications or anything like that. Good luck!

  • More likely you're goping to be sick from anticipation than from the'd already be feeling somewhat ill.
