Is Fenugreek safe?

my friend is looking for something to build her milk supply she has a 2week old.I researched and found Fenugreek, but is it really safe?

  • Fenugreek is used as a culinary spice & food that is soothing to the stomach (thats what my fenugreek bottle says) so yes, it is safe. The only time it shouldn't be used is if you are pregnant.

  • Yes, fenugreek is safe. But first she should determine whether or not she truly has a supply problem- most women who think they do really don't. Diaper count is the true test- 6-8 wet diapers per day and she's fine!

  • It is safe, but I could not handle the smell. This is what worked for me when I was having supply issues:

    Nurse frequently
    Drink lots of water, at least 6 oz every time you nurse and every time you pump
    Have lots of skin-to-skin contact with your baby
    Take brewers yeast tabs
    Look at pictures of your baby while you pump
    Wait at least an hour after nursing to pump
