does your toddlers bug bites look worse than normal adults?

my 17 month old has got his first (mysketto?) bite. he had one last summer and it got infected and he had to have antibiotics. well now he has 4 and they look horrible, they are really swollen and red, is this normal for their skin or could he be allergic or something?

  • My oldest had a terrible reaction to mosquito bites until he was 4-5 y/o. We obviously tried to prevent the bites, but when it happened he looked like someone beat the heck out of him. They would get the size of quarters, and if he got bitten on the face he looked like he'd been on the losing end of a fight. His eyes would swell up, cheeks, it was bad. We were just told to give him Benadryl and he would probably become less sensitive as he got older. He did! : )
