Georgia Meth Project commercials. Have you seen anything like this?

Not for the faint of heart, but these commercials are airing all day and night on the Georgia TV stations. They show a very real look at Meth addiction. Here is one of them:

  • I'm in GA and have seen most of them. I think they're pretty great. I'm not sure our meth problem is any worse than anywhere else, but I think this campaign can have an impact. I remember when I was in high school, there was some pretty hard-core scary campaigns against crack and guess what--I never had the urge to try crack. I was pretty frightened at the thought of instant addiction. I did try other drugs, but to this day have never touched crack or meth for that matter.

Chrissy1213, I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't think you can make such a broad statement to say that NO kid will be phased (it's actually "fazed", but I digress), because I think there are some kids who would pay attention and heed the warning that meth is dangerous as hell. Not all of them, but if you can save a few, isn't that worth something?

  • I hadn't seen them, I have heard we have a severe problem with meth in Ga. It is scary stuff, no doubt!

  • I believe this was originally the Montana Meth Project. Same ads, though.

  • I actually kinda laughed at the bathtub one. They are overly exaggerated to the point where they won't be taken serious. Kids are very desensitized now a days and these scare tactics won't phase them. Sad but true.
