Do you have plugs in your eyes?

My eye doctor recommended putting permanent plugs in my eyes to help with my dryness. She wants to try the temporary ones first to see how they work because I am unable to wear my contacts because my eyes are soooo dry, even with the new contacts for dry eyes.

Does anyone else have these plugs. Have they helped with your dry eyes?

  • I have silicone plugs in both of my lower tear ducts. I've always had dry eyes, which got really bad when I moved to the desert and even worse after I had LASIK done. I've had them for about a year and yes, they've helped a lot. It was a really easy, painless fix.

  • My dr has recommended them, but I haven't needed them that bad yet, so no, I don't have them. He said there was nothing to it though, and that it really would help. Drops are working fine though.

  • Yes, there really is very little to it. I was there maybe 10 minutes. Easy.

  • It helped my sister, my mom, and myself. Except mine itched like crazy and they fell out, lol. I didn't go back to try a different kind, but it would help for sure. It doesn't hurt and is super fast to do it.
