  • Only if he/she stopped talking to me and I could tell there was something seriously wrong. I wouldn't hide the fact that I did it either.

  • Yes, if I had concerns about what she was doing, if not I probably wouldn't.

  • If I felt there was something going on in their life that they weren't telling me or if I thought they were in danger YES. I'd rather them hate me for a few months than not protect them from something horrible.

  • Unless it was an issue with their safety, I couldn't do it. I remember my mom saying how she'd never invade my privacy like that, and I've decided to grant my child the same respect.

  • be sure not to get caught. i caught my mother reading my diary in highschool andlost a lot of respect/trust with her. i understand now, as an adult that she was concerned about me, but it took me years to be able trust and respect her again.

  • I would love to say, ABSOLUTELY NOT, but I don't know. My kids aren't even three yet...so I have a ways to go before they have a diary...but if I thought they were doing something they shouldn't, I might. I don't know. I always told my fiance that if ever read our daughter's diary while she was at school or something, that she couldn't get in trouble for anything he read in it. It's just not right to invade their privacy like that....so on top of that HUGE invasion of privacy...now she's being punished? I don't find that right...so yeah.

  • I would only if I thought there was a reason to. Not just because. If I suspected drugs or an abusive relationship then absolutely.
