This summer?

For those who have younger kids (newborn-4 years old) ... During the summer do you have a scedual for your kids, or just take each day by day? I've never put my kids on a scedual, but I've been thinking about doing it.

  • Well we schedule. But only because our children with autism thrive on routine and structure. We do allow occasional bursts of spontaneous activity. Again it's to help them to adjust and deal with last minute changes. We all know things don't always go as planned.

  • I don't schedule like "now we will read books, now we color for 10 minutes" but I do need to have some outline to my day. I am not a very spontaneous person. But it is hard to go out and be spontaneous with 4 kids. I feel like i need to pack for an excursion just to walk around the block! lol

  • we have a loose schedual, Like wake up, breakfast, he watches pbs while I do yoga and take a quick shower then get him ready, then we go on an "adventure" store, library, park, whatever, then home, eat lunch, take a nap, wake up go on another "adventure" then home around 4-5, dinner at 6ish, bath, baby movie while I clean up, books ect, it's not like we do this now and this at this time but it's the rough pattern of our days
