Can I still use vegetable seeds from last year if they were in my unheated porch over winter??

I have tons of seeds from last year all unopened but they were in an unheated room when it was freezing outside over winter. Should I toss them or should they be ok??

  • We always plant half a pack and safe the rest in the shed for next year and while there is slightly less plants that come up year 2 they still yield pretty well.

  • I say go ahead and plant them! The worst that can happen is that the seed will be dead, but it's very likely that a few will still germinate.
