Would you let anyone else breastfeed your child if you were not able to?

I am most definanlty pro breastfeeding, but I do not think I would ever let anyone else breastfeed my child.

If it was a medical emergency and the child needed breastmilk I would allow another mother to pump then bottle feed it to my child. What are your opinons?

  • I would use breastmilk expressed from another woman but I would feel too jealous to let her hold and actually nurse my baby. I am sure that happened alot back in the day when a woman physically couldnt produce milk. It would be even better if it was a close friend....sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and do whats best for your baby.

  • I completely agree with you, pump if absolutely necessary. but if someone else breastfeeds your baby they are the ones bonding the most with your baby... thats just my opinion though

  • This is excluding all unnatrual events, war, famine, ect.....Just plain ole you can't produce milk and formula is readily availiable.

  • i couldnt let anyone do it, unless i could watch them 24 hours a day, and that would just be unreasonable. you never know what someone else is putting into their body, and your childs, ya know? now the war torn country and my kid was starving thing, well then , yeah, i suppose i wouldnt have a problem then!

  • Prolly not... I would be to worried my child would have a hard time telling the difference between mommy and food... formula works just as well as breast milk

  • if my baby would die otherwise then sure go ahead and let my baby nurse on someone else...but if it was just out of laziness then no I would not want another woman bonding and nourishing my child...I would pull out the bottle for that

  • I'd have no problem with it at all. It's just feeding to me; in my mind, having a problem would be like having an issue with my son buying a school lunch.
