  • No naps around here. They do morning activities, then circle time, then recess/ gym, then maybe some more small group time, lunch, then a story, more quiet activies and maybe another movement type activity in the afternoon. Around here, anyway.

  • Honestly that is totally depended on your LOCAL school district. Every district is different. There are school districts throughout USA that still have HALF day kindergarten. If you really want to know things are then contact your local school district and ask them. That is the only way to truly know.

With that said in this neck this wood it's totally depended on the school the child goes too. Some of the schools are still HALF day, others are full day. None of them have nap time. As far as what the school day is? In this neck of the woods it's a lot of seat work, ie worksheets. There is some computer time, Art, Music, and Gym glass 1-2 times a week with a teacher that specifically teaches those subjects. They do book reports, go on field trips, etc. Think back to your first grade year. That is how it is here in my neck of the woods.

  • It all depends on your state and local schools.

In SC, my twins were 1/2 day mornings with no naps.
Here in NC, my younger 2 were full days with naps.

  • i have never heard of preschools doing naps..some people think preschool is daycare...but theyre different..anyways..my daughter is in full day kindergarten, and no they dont get naps!! thankgod, cuz she hasnt napped since she was 1.5yrs old. they do the calendar and weather in the morning, sing some songs, then they do their learning centres, recess, writing/math/drawing etc, lunch, computers or gym, then go hom...depends on the day..likes tuesdays and thursdays they do computers...mon wed fri they do gym, wednesdays they have library time, tuesdays and thursdays they also go with the other kindergarten teacher who teaches them math as well..and they have days where they spend time with the grade 4-5 kids reading with them and what not..

  • My kids went to full day kindergarten and they did have a "rest time" for an hour in the afternoon where some of the kids would fall asleep. But the daily schedule is totally dependent on the school and teacher.

  • i would say it depends on your school. the school should be able to tell you. i would go in and ask. maybe you can sit in with a kindergarten class or something if school is still in for you.

here there are no naps. for full day, they have specials (art, gym, library, music) once a day, 2 maybe 3 recesses (short), lunch, they take a 15 to 20 minute "break" after lunch where they either watch a little educational show or are read to. they also get read to at other points during the day. they have centers for math. and i am not sure the specifics of the rest of the day. but they cover everything that half day does but they get lunch, specials, and extra recesses. they also get extra instructional time, but i know that half day is still okay here. next year i dont know what they are going to do in our district because there were huge cuts in funding and they had to let the 1/2 day K teacher go.

  • We have naps at our kindergarten unless you request that your child not have one. We didn't want our daughter to nap, so now she gets to help out in the baby room while the other kids are sleeping.
