  • Acidophilus. Powder, not pills. About $12 @ a health food store, you'll find it in the cooler. It eats the yeast, and will soothe the burning. Use Olive Oil as a protectant- it is also an antimicrobial, and retards the growth of yeast. Also, keep your bush trimmed short or shaved, it traps excess moisture, which will help it grow. It will grow ANYWHERE moist, but that makes it worse.

Go nekkid @ night, so you can air out, and wear ONLY cotton panties- they breathe best.

Know how you feel- I actually have a bad reaction to the OTC preparations, and got an even worse rash.

BTW PP, if it IS yeast, antibiotics will only make it worse!!

  • It may not be a yeast infection, you might need antibiotics.

  • The one dose never does work from me. Get the three dose and to be sure you can get two of the three doses and do them back to back. It just may not be enough for you. Also, if that doesn't work, it may be a different kind of infection that you would need to see the doctor for.

  • Oh, and I forgot to add... wash all of your towels in HOT water, and dry them on the hottest setting.

Do not use your bath towel more than once for at least a week after the symptoms have abated. Or you stand to reinfect yourself.

  • i'v also heard to iron your panties because the washer and dryer cant kill all the yeast, but the heat of the iron will.
