should we stay or should we go???

as every one knows we dont get along with our neighbors.. well she built her addition and it doesnt have any windows on our side.now she thinks she is the shit....anyway we decided to put our house on the market and call it a day...well our house isnt worth what i thought and the houses we can afford are worse than the house that we own...do we stay and just figure i probly wont have friends around here. and things will probly never change... or should we buy a more expensive house and just get out of here. now my dh is 55 and we only have 8 yrs left on this morgage.what do you think...

  • Only go if you can afford to move. It would be nice if you could afford a small house in the country..or atleast without neighbors right next to you. I can't imagine you wanting to stay there 4ever even if house is paid off so you might as well plan on moving just dont put a time line on it. keep looking til you find a good house you can afford.

  • Don't rush yourself out your house because of your neighbors. I understand you are uncomfortable near them but it would be silly to a possible financial burden on yourselves or end up with a house that you really don't like that will just create another problem. Stick it out until you can find the right house.

  • You could buy a new house and then rent this current home to people you know will drive your neighbor crazy LOL

  • thats the thing .. our morgage now is nothing.. we didnt want to have to pay more money than we do now...most of the houses oround where i am are forclosure or short sales. my real estate agent said not to get involved in those.she said most of them have something wrong with them...i hate to rent it.. we just put in a new kitchen which kills me....they would trash it...so i thing we will do it slowly and get the house we want... we were going to get a condo but we also have a 100 pnd german shepherd that i am not willing to give up unless someone takes her that i know....

  • 'Out of the frying pan, into the fire' comes to mind.

Never move because of bad neighbours, because you don't control your neighbours wherever you go. Even if you vet and approve 100% of the neigbhbours where you move to, they're allowed to leave and sell or rent their homes to anyone they want to, meaning, problems will come and go no matter where you are.

So, your dingbat neighbour thinks she's all that and a bag of chips? Let her. Be the mature person in the world and let her feel all proud of herself for being able to use the potty all by her own self (or whatever it is she's feeling all big and important about). Why bother to burst her bubble? Her immature attachment to her status and stuff doesn't need to be mirrored by your agreement with its value.

She'll probably move before you, and if she doesn't you have a live Housewives of Inane County living right next door to entertain you. Let it go.
