Recurring low grade fever...

My 12 month old has had a low grade fever- usually around 100- off an on for almost 4 weeks now. It's there for a few days then gone for a day or 2. Recently been accompanied by stuffy/runny nose . I've been to 2 doctors 4 times with her and they can't find anything wrong. She doesn't appear to be teething and I'm just about at my wits end. Has anyone dealt with this? Maybe know where I can find some helpful info---WebMD, RightHealth and wrong diagnosis have given me no clues.

  • As long as nothing else is wrong, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some kids are just prone to running a low fever...you may find out that as they get older, that they are not the average 98.6 kid...some peoples' temp are naturally higher.

  • Trying having your little one sweat it out a bit. Eating foods with a little spice in it helps the body to kill off harmful bacteria without anything medical. Steam baths, vicks, a bit of Tylenol and some mommy cuddles should help too =)

  • I've known a few moms who reported this post vaccination. It could be that her body isn't responding as intended; if she received the MMR she is trying to process three live viruse plus other vaccinations received.
